(DETROIT) – A 43-year-old man has been arraigned on charges stemming from a June slaying in Port Huron.

The Port Huron Police Department said Reginald Cu-Nu Grasty was arrested by the United States Marshals Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team Tuesday near Jefferson and Conner Street in the city of Detroit.

Grasty was arrested without incident and then placed in custody of the Port Huron Police Major Crimes Unit. He was interviewed and lodged in the county jail on charges of open murder and disinterment/mutilation of a corpse.

He was arraigned on the charges Wednesday, according to police.

Grasty’s bond was set at $750,000. He has a probable cause conference February 2nd.

Port Huron Police responded to a report of a dead body on the United States Naval Sea Cadet Ship Grayfox June 23. The death was ruled a homicide, and the victim was identified as 44-year-old William Michael Orlow of Port Huron.

The county medical examiner determined the victim’s death was trauma-related and that it was a homicide.

Police said Grasty was a person of interest in July and an arrest warrant was issued last month.
