Port Huron shares COVID funding

The City of Port Huron has presented a detailed list of expenditures of CVOID-based funding to city council members, letting them see how the community has been helped during the pandemic.

According to city officials, a total of $632,000 dollars was received in two rounds of funding.

In the first round, the city gave $210,000 dollars to Blue Water Community Action with another $75,000 given to the Economic Development Alliance and $47,000 dollars to the Council on Aging.

In round two, the bulk of the $170,000 dollars went to the EDA to disperse to grants to city businesses affected by the virus.

Another $30,000 was given to Mid-City Nutrition to allow for more meals to be prepared.

More than $462,000 dollars was given to Port Huron in the first round of funding with over $170,000 dollars received in the second round.
