Police searching for suspect in Port Huron breaking and entering

Police are searching for a suspect after a breaking and entering Tuesday night in Port Huron. Officers from the Port Huron Police Department responded to a home in the 1800 block of Water Street around 10:15 Tuesday night after receiving a report from a 30-year old male that someone had broken into his home and threatened him with a handgun while demanding money. The homeowner was struck in the head by the suspect, but was able to escape and contact police. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Police continue to search for the suspect, who is described as a black male in his twenties, about six feet tall with an athletic build, wearing a ski mask and a sweatshirt. Police ask for anyone with information or who may have video surveillance in the area to call the Major Crimes Unit at 810-984-5383.
