Sanilac County Sheriff Elect Paul Rich has chosen Tim Torp of Sandusky to serve as Undersheriff for the upcoming new administration as of January 2021.

Torp has been in law enforcement since 1977, working for the Village of Peck for then Chief Winston McCanham and later at Village of Deckerville for Chief Henry Morton.

In November 1978 he was hired by Sanilac County Sheriff Ross Dundas. During his 25 year career with the Sheriff’s Office, Torp was a corrections officer, law enforcement services deputy, Drug Task Force investigator, patrol supervisor and jail administrator.

He has been Chief of Police for the Village of Deckerville for 12 years. Tim and his wife Laurie live in Sandusky.

Amanda Wojcik from Deckerville will be continuing as Administrative Assistant as she has for Sheriff Garry Biniecki.

Sheriff Elect Paul Rich is appreciative of her continuation as she will key in assisting with the transition.
