Two sustain minor injuries in Sandusky

(SANILC COUNTY) – Two people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Sandusky Monday afternoon that snarled traffic near the stoplight downtown.

According to the Sandusky Police Department, an 18-year old Sandusky woman pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by a 55-year old Sandusky man near the intersection of E. Sanilac Ave and N. Morse Street around 4 pm.

Chief Brett Lester said Anna Forton was driving on Morse Street when she made a left-hand turn, into the path of a vehicle driven by Eldon Welch, Jr.

A passenger in the Welch vehicle, Eldon Welch III, a 17-year old Sandusky man, sustained minor injuries and was transported to McKenzie Health System.

Forton, the sole occupant of her vehicle, was also treated for minor injuries with both victims being transported by Sanilac EMS.

Chief Lester said Forton was cited for Impeding traffic.

Sandusky fire department and the Sanilac County Sheriff Department assisted Sandusky police.
