Two injured in Fort Gratiot accident

A two-vehicle traffic crash in Fort Gratiot sent two people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. According to t he St. Clair County Sheriff Department, emergency crews responded to a report of a two-vehicle traffic crash in front of Meijer on 24th Ave. about 1:30 p.m. Deputies say a southbound vehicle on 24th Ave. struck a Ford Explorer after the Explorer turned into the path of the on-coming car while turning left into the Meijer’s entrance from 24th Ave. Tri-Hospital crews transported two people to McLaren Port Huron Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The male driver of the Explorer was extricated from the wreckage by the Fort Gratiot fire department and transported to the hospital.
