Dispute leads to alleged stabbing of Croswell man

(LEXINGTON TWP) – A dispute by two Croswell men led to an altercation involving a stabbing late Friday morning.

According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, around 11:45 a.m., Sanilac Central Dispatch received a call from the 5000
block of Spruce Road in Lexington Township regarding an assault in which a 25-­year ­old male from Croswell had been stabbed.

Deputies responded to the scene and determined that the 25-­year and a 33­-year-­old male, also from Croswell, were in a physical altercation.

During the altercation, the 25-year old told his girlfriend to get a gun which led to the 33­-year-­old male producing a knife and allegedly stabbing the 25-­year-­old male one time in the back.

The 25-­year-­old male was transported to Port Huron McLaren Hospital by Croswell EMS for treatment of injuries.

The Croswell Police Department assisted deputies on the scene.

The case remains under investigation with request for charges being sent to the Prosecutor’s Office following further investigation.
