More fans being allowed at athletic events

A NOTE FROM THE MHSAA REGARDING FANS AT ATHLETIC EVENTS CHANGES EVERYTHING COME OCTOBER 9TH —– With information shared Wednesday afternoon, it now appears the limitations on number of spectators at high school athletic events has been eased, effective October 9th.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association has given a new formula for how man fans can attend games, and essentially, for the Thumb region, the limits are up to 500 spectators for indoors events and up to 1,000 at outdoors events including football.

The changes come as a result of yet another Executive Order (#183) from the Governor’s Office that also allows cheerleaders, dance teams and bands to be present.

Social distancing and wearing masks is still being strongly recommended, and will be enforced.
