Crews are in Sandusky this week, repairing several city streets with a special mix for more durability.

City officials say among the streets receiving repairs are Argyle, Woodland Drive, Roberts, W. Speaker and Custer Streets.

The streets were chosen for a Fiber Mesh Surface Rehab project because it is more durable and increased strength product expected to extend the life of the streets by 10 years.

The City will also be rebuilding Truman Street and spend a total of just under $500,000 dollars on the street projects. City Manager Dave Faber said city officials decided to get a 10-year bond for the money to have the work done.

The City is also still planning on the rebuilding of Dawson Street, although bids for the work came in higher that anticipated.

Six bids were received, according to city officials, for street and sidewalk work to be done from M-46 north to Argyle Street.

The low bid came in at just over $577,000 dollars, around $74,000 dollars more than originally thought.

The city is planning on covering the difference in costs.
