No survivors in fatal Cottrellville Township crash

There were no survivors in a two-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday in St. Clair County’s Correllville Township. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Lapeer Post were called to the scene of Broadridge and Starville Roads after receiving reports of the crash. Investigation revealed that a westbound vehicle struck a vehicle that was traveling south on Starville Road. Both vehicles then entered a wooded area off the roadway, where one of the vehicles caught on fire. A 37-year old Lapeer man, 34-year old New Baltimore man, 40-year old man from Cottrellville Township, and a 37-year old Cottrellville Township woman all passed away as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation. The St. Clair County Sheriff Department, Clay Township Police, Ira Township Fire and Tri Hospital EMS assisted Michigan State Police at the scene.
