Police investigate theft of firearms

The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office and the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Division are investigating a theft of firearms in Lapeer County over the past weekend.

According to Investigators, three black men were seen on surveillance tapes, allegedly entering Bowman’s on M-53 late Friday and leaving the building with what police say was over 20 firearms.

Investigators were able to collect several pieces of evidence at the crime scene which led them to a residence in Saginaw.

Authorities executed a search warrant and discovered all the firearms, as well as another that was taken in an earlier B & E at Ben’s Supercenter in Marlette.

One male suspect, Darious White, has been arrested in connection with the crime and has had a federal complaint filed.

The case remains under investigation.
