Sandusky police monthly report

(SANILAC COUNTY) – The Sandusky police department has responded to over 1,700 calls for assistance in 2020, including 257 in the month of July.

Chief Brett Lester, in his monthly report to city council, reports 62 traffic stops, 49 verbal warnings and 35 blight complaints in the month.

Sandusky officers made 16 arrests, wrote 11 traffic violations and another five traffic warnings while responding to eight calls of assistance to other agencies outside the city limits.

For the year, Sandusky officers have made nearly 400 traffic stops and issued just under 300 verbal warnings.

The blight office has responded to 137 calls this year while the department has assisted other agencies 52 times.
