A 42-year old Northville man was arrested on multiple felony charges after allegedly shooting at random vehicles Thusday night. Troopers from the Michigan State Police were dispatched to M-25 and Lawitzke Road around 9:45 pm after Central Dispatch received two separate 911 calls about a man shooting at cars. The victims reported a vehicle appeared to be disabled in the roadway, and that each of them stopped to check on the car. Both victims reported a man jumped out of the ditch and began firing a handgun at their vehicles before demanding a ride. Nobody was injured, and each victim was able to drive away and call 911. One of the vehicles was struck by a bullet. Multiple area law enforcement agencies arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter before moving in to approach the suspect around 3:15 a.m. Police say the suspect fled into the woods, but was later found by a K-9 unit and taken into custody about an hour later, at 4:15 a.m. Harbor Beach, Port Austin, Huron County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team and K9 Unit, a state police helicopter, state police aviation and East Huron Ambulance all assisted in the incident.
