Huron County deputies respond to accidents

Two accidents in Huron County kept Sheriff Department Deputies busy last Sunday.

In one accident, a 68-year old Port Huron man was injured Sunday afternoon when two motorcycles collided in Huron County’s Sand Beach Township.

Huron County Sheriff deputies were called to the scene on Lakeshore road, south of McIntosh Road about 3 pm. James Gram was riding his Harley Davison north on Lakeshore and slowed to turn into a driveway.

A second motorcyclist, driven by 76-year old Lorne Roe of Fort Gratiot looked away from the road and didn’t see the other motorcycle slowing and ran in to him.

Gram refused medical treatment from EMS crews and was treated at Harbor Beach Hospital.

According to investigators, Roe was not injured in the accident.

In the second accident,  a 28-year old Bay City woman sustained a hand injury after she was struck by a passing ATV on Sunday morning in Huron County’s Grant Township.

Huron County Sheriff Deputies say the incident occurred in the 5800 block of Sebewaing Road.

Investigators say 48-year old Matthew Hoonhout of Harrison Township was riding his ATV east on Sebewaing Road around 1 a.m. and struck the hand of Cortney Jo Kernstock of Bay City.

She refused medical treatment, but was later treated at McLaren Hospital of Bay City on Monday.
