MISSING CHILD FOUND

A tense situation, with a report of a missing 4-year old child has had a happy ending. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, the 4-year-old child that was reported missing has been located. Authorities say he was located with his mother, when the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office stopped the vehicle on Wednesday. The child was safe and is in the process of being turned over to the Department of Health and Human Services where four other siblings were placed Monday evening. Officials with the Sheriff Department said they were pleased with the cooperation of neighboring agencies, including the Lapeer County Sheriff Department and the assistance of the general public. There was no indication the child has sustained any injuries. The case remains under investigation.

The Sanilac County Sheriff Department released the following information in regards to a missing child case:

(SANILAC COUNTY) – On Monday, July 6, 2020 at approximately 11:00pm the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office assisted DHS with the removal of five children from a residence on Aitken Road in Elk Township.

One of the children, Elias Joseph Krajenke (4 years old) was not at the residence when DHS and Deputies arrived.

Deputies and DHS were told by the mother of the child that she does not know his current whereabouts.

Elias was entered in LEIN as a missing person by Sanilac Central Dispatch.

Multiple family residences have been checked and the child has yet to be located.

In a previous release, authorities said the child had last been seen in the area of Main and Black River Streets in Deckerville.
