Lapeer County voters will be going to the polls in August to determine the fate of several elected officials and numerous ballot proposals.

Among the issues on the Primary Ballot is a renewal of a five-year police protection agreement for Deerfield Township voters which if successful, would generate over $66,000 dollars in the first year.

Also on the ballot is a renewal question for North Branch Township voters to approve a four-year fire protection agreement that would bring in over $162,000 dollars in it’s first year, if approved.

Goodland Township voters will decide the fate of a new six-year library tax that if successful would generate $61,000 dollars in it’s first year.

Goodland Township voters will also be casting votes on a road millage, along with a millage for maintenance of township parks and a historical school building.

Lapeer County voters are also being asked to consider a five-year renewal of Emergency Medical Services that would raise over $2.8 million dollars in it’s first year, if approved.
