Candidates file for Sanilac County positions

The August Primary is just a few weeks away and candidates throughout Sanilac County have been busy trying to campaign, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

With fairs and parades being cancelled due to coronavirus, candidates have been limited in how much contact they’ve had with registered voters.

In  a sampling of County races, Paul Rich and Steve McKenney are vying for the Sheriff position while Kristy Bender and incumbent Trudy Bowers are trying to get votes of supporters for the Treasurer job.

Mark Davidson, Scott Radloff and Tim Wrathall are running for Circuit Court Judge while Ben Tank and John Milletics will square off for the position of Surveyor.

There are several other contested races including Board of Commissioners and Drain Commissioner.

Due to lack of any Democratic opposition in the Primary, whoever wins the Sheriff race will essentially be the County’s next top law enforcement officer.

Voters will go to the polls August 4th.
