Imlay City looking for new city manager

(LAPEER COUNTY) – Imlay City officials are searching for a new City Manager, following the announcement that current City Manager Tom Youatt is resigning his position at the end of the month.

Youatt told City Commission members in May that he intended to step down from the post he has held for the past six years.

During his tenure, Youatt was key in presenting city needs to it’s voters including the passage of a millage to build a new fire hall and several infrastructure improvement millages.

He started his career as the Director of the Sanilac County Parks Commission in 1984 before becoming Harbor Master at Port Sanilac for six years.

He served as Administrator/Clerk in Harbor Beach for 15 years and then had a six-year stint as city manager in West Branch before going to Imlay City.

His last day of work will be June 30th.
