Sanilac DTF makes arrest in drug case

(SANILAC COUNTY) – Agents with the Sanilac County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop Tuesday morning, executing a search warrant in Elk Township as part of an ongoing investigation into the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

According to authorities, during the stop around 10 a.m., components used for manufacturing methamphetamine were located.

A search warrant was obtained for a residence related to the traffic stop and was executed in the 3000 block of Melvin Road.

DTF Agents say during the search, additional components used for the manufacturing of methamphetamine, including a used “one pot” were found.

A 41-year old male and 58-year old female, both from the Elk Township home, were arrested and are expected to be arraigned on multiple drug related charges.

DTF agents say the investigation of the incident continues.

The Sanilac Drug Task Force was assisted by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office and St. Clair County K-9 during the traffic stop and execution of the search warrant.
