Accident injures Almont woman

(SANILAC COUNTY) – A 69-year old Almont woman was injured in a crash in Sanilac County’s Lamotte Township Thursday morning.

According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, deputies were called to the intersection of Sanilac Ave and Germania Road around 11:30 a.m. for a multi-vehicle crash.

Investigators say a pickup truck being driven by a Dryden woman was going south on Germania Road and failed to yield to on-coming traffic at the intersection of M-46. She struck an on-coming semi-truck who then pushed the woman’s pickup into a third vehicle parked at a nearby party store.

The Almont woman was transported to Marlette Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries.

According to the investigation, all occupants of the vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.

Deputies were assisted by Marlette EMS and Lamotte fire department.
