Local hospitals open doors to possible transfers

Large urban hospitals and health systems in southeastern Michigan are nearing capacity caring for patients with COVID-19, and local acute care hospitals are preparing to serve as additional treatment sites.

In an effort to assist, Marlette Regional Hospital, and Deckerville Community Hospital, as affiliates of United Health Care Partners, are among other hospitals in the Thumb Region that are now serving as relief sites to treat NON-COVID 19 patients for their in-patient and out-patient needs.

Last week, Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City, McLaren Regional in Caro along with Lake Huron Medical Center and McLaren Port Huron also made similar announcements.
