Police search for missing woman and child

(SANILAC COUNTY) – On Thursday, January 16, 2020 at approximately 2:37 pm Deputies were dispatched to take a Missing Persons complaint from a concerned grandfather living in the 6000 block of Aitken Road in Lexington Township.

After speaking with the grandfather, Deputies learned that 31-year-old Tara Sheldon and her 3-year-old
daughter Alydiauna Munn had last contacted him on Monday, January 13, 2020 at around 9:45 pm and during
the call Tara indicated that she had found that her van had been broken into and would call her grandfather
back.

The initial and on-going investigation has determined that Tara and Alydiauna were last heard from by her grandfather on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 9:45pm.

Contact has been made with several friends and acquaintances who have also not heard from her and do not know her whereabouts. Tara has also not showed up for work at the Double Tree Hotel in the City of Port Huron for her last couple shifts, nor have they heard
from her.

The Sheriff’s Office has been working with our local law enforcement partners including the Michigan State Police to utilize numerous investigative resources in an attempt to determine the location and welfare of both Tara and Alydiauna. Tara’s vehicle is described as a 2006 dark blue Chrysler Pacifica mini-van with Michigan License Plate No. ECN6101. A sticker reading “MAMA BEAR” is located on the back window and there is reported damage to the passenger side running board of the vehicle.
