Through various fundraisers like the Driving for Health golf outing, Tree of Shining Love project, and the Friends of MRH/Cornerstone club, the Foundation was pleased to present the hospital with a check for $123,000 to complete the acute care/swing bed unit renovation project. (MARLETTE) -Following a very successful fundraising campaign that was orchestrated by the Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation and its Development Council volunteers between 2017 and 2018, Marlette Regional Hospital is pleased to announce the completion of the newly renovated acute care/swing bed unit.

The acute care/swing bed unit is where patients stay when they are hospitalized following illness or surgery. The unit is adjacent to a hallway and patient rooms that were renovated by the Foundation in 2014 and includes a nurses’ desk/reception area, a physician work room, inpatient rehabilitation, and 7 patient rooms.

Main features of the $123,000 renovation included a new nurses’ station; cherry entry doors; refinished storage cabinetry in patient rooms; walls painted in warm, neutral tones; floor covering in a durable, laminate, natural wood appearance throughout the entire unit; new bedside cabinetry, TVs and over-the-bed tables in patient rooms; and nature artwork throughout the unit.

This renovation project would not be possible without the generous financial contributions and support of the MRH Foundation volunteers, its individual contributors, and our communities. Marlette Regional Hospital extends special thanks to the Gordon and Gayle Miller Foundation for their one-time $20,000 contribution to the project.
