Vassar schools get later start date

(VASSAR) – While many students will be in the classroom next week in an early start to the school year, students who attend Vassar Public Schools, due to construction, will not be starting on Tuesday, September 3rd instead the new start date is Monday, September 16th.

That day will also be a half day for students and the remainder of the week will be full days. School officials say construction is still expected to continue for the next two years, after school and during breaks and is the cause for the delay.

Construction is not expected to interrupt instructional programs throughout the year.

The school is also working to open Latchkey earlier.
