Four injured in two-vehicle accident in Sanilac County

 

Police investigate two-vehicle accident

(FLYNN TOWNSHIP) – The Sanilac County Sheriff Department released the following information regarding a two-vehicle accident late Wednesday morning in Sanilac County’s Flynn Township:

On May 29, 2019 at approximately 11:40 A.M. Sanilac Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from a citizen
regarding a two car Personal Injury Accident that occurred in Flynn Township.

The investigation by Deputies determined that a 29-year-old female of Saginaw and her 30-year-old female passenger were traveling
northbound on Shepard Road near West Peck Road in a 2014 GMC Acadia.

The driver of the Acadia failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of West Peck Road and Shepard Road. The Acadia hit a 2013 Ford
F-150 truck in the intersection that was occupied by a 70-year-old male and 71-year-old female, both of
Greenwood, Michigan.

The occupants of the vehicles were treated on scene by Croswell EMS and Marlette EMS. The occupants of
the F-150 truck were treated by EMS personnel on the scene and transported to Port Huron McLaren Hospital
for further treatment.

The occupants of the Acadia sustained injuries and were treated by EMS personnel on the scene and
transported to Lapeer McLaren Hospital for further treatment.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident and air bags were deployed. Alcohol does not
appear to be a factor.

The accident remains under investigation and names are being withheld pending charges.

Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted on scene by the Brown City Fire Department and the Sanilac
County Road Commission.
