Huron County crash sends two people to hospitals

A two-vehicle crash over the weekend in Huron County sent two people to area hospitals, one sustaining serious injuries. According to sheriff deputies, 84-year old Dorthey Heleski of Ubly was driving on McAlpin and stopped at the intersection of M-53 around noon Sunday. The woman proceeded into the intersection and collided with a pickup truck driven by 46-year old Danielle Galbenski of Cass City. Heleski was taken to Hills and Dales Hospital of Cass City and later flown to an out of county hospital for further treatment. Galbenski was taken to McLaren Thumb Region in Bad Axe for treatment of her injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
