Sandusky firemen responded to a mobile home Monday afternoon

Sandusky fire department responded to what was described as a fully engulfed structure fire early Monday afternoon in the trailer park west of town.

Chief Todd Hillman said upon their arrival shortly after noon, the structure was not fully engulfed, rather tenants had put something on the stove to cook and fell asleep.

The homeowner spoke to Sanilac Broadcasting and said a mistake had been made and the home was actually filled with smoke, not flames.

Firemen investigated the incident, inside and outside the mobile home on Pleasantview Drive, and determined there was not a major fire.

The home was ventilated to release smoke from inside the home.

No report of damage was reported and no one was injured in the incident.
