Student in custody after discovery of “hit list”

Police investigate possible hit list

(CROSWELL) – Authorities have taken a Cros-Lex student into custody after threats to students at Croswell Lexington Schools surfaced late last week. The high school student had posted a kill list to social media and according to authorities, was considering whether or not to act on the list.

Croswell Police and the Sanilac County Sheriffs office are investigating the incident and took the student into custody Friday.

Police searched the student’s home but did not find any weapons.

School officials say there is a court order prohibiting the student from having any contact with anyone associated with the school district.

Police and school officials continue to work together with the investigation.
