Sanilac County Sheriff employees to attend command training

Following action taken by the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners, two employees of the Sheriff Department will be attending Command Training through Michigan State University. Undersheriff Brad Roff made the request of Commissioners to approve the training at a cost of around $875 dollars per student. The program costs $3,500 dollars per student, but is reimbursed 75% upon successful completion of the program. District 2 Commissioner Joe O’Mara questioned why attendees would not do the training on their own time and was told the education is a County benefit and endorsed by the County’s insurance carrier.
