St. Clair County Dive Team retrieves snowmobile from river

A St. Clair County man can count himself lucky after a bone-chilling incident in Port Huron Sunday afternoon. Police and fire crews were called to the Black River near the Riverside Street boat launch around 4 pm after the man’s snowmobile broke through thin ice and submerged in the icy waters of the river. The man was able to avoid being submerged with the machine and the St. Clair County Dive Team was called to retrieve the snowmobile. Police are warning people to stay off the thin ice, despite recent frigid temperatures.
