A fatal head-on crash in Tuscola County Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of a 52-year old Vassar man. According to Sheriff Glen Skrent, the man was driving on Frankenmuth Road, near Jay Road, around 4 pm and crossed the center line, striking a second vehicle head-on. The 55-year old Vassar man driving the second vehicle, and two passengers, ages three and six, sustained minor injuries and were wearing seat belts. The 52-year old man was not wearing a seatbelt according to a police report and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say they believe neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash. Vassar fire and police departments assisted deputies at the crash that remains under investigation.
