Brown City man killed in rollover accident

An 85-year old Brown City man died from his injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover accident late last week in Lapeer County. According to Michigan State Police, a pickup truck driven by Mark Banister, 57, of Brown City was traveling west on Burnside Road around 6 pm Thursday evening when he lost control on the snow-covered road and rolled into a ditch near Blacks Corners Road. The truck landed on it’s roof in the ditch that had a few inches of water in it. Melvin Inman, who was pulled from the vehicle by a passerby who performed CPR, was rushed to Marlette Regional Hospital where he later died. Banister and a third person in the vehicle, 83-year old Lulu Breclow-Inman sustained minor injuries.
