Water still an issue for new state hospital in Caro

The Tuscola County Board of Commissioners has taken steps to help resolve the issue of getting water for the new State Hospital being built in the Caro area. The City of Caro and Indianfields Township have been at odds as to who would foot the bill to run new water lines to the property. The County stepped in and hired a firm to see if it is feasible to utilize wells and a water tower on the property, if rehabilitation was done. County officials have said they need to do what is best for all county residents, not just the City of Caro. State and local officiasls broke ground Oct. 19 on the $115 million, 200-bed hospital project, clearing the way for demolition work with the actual construction beginning next spring.
