SHOOTING LEAVES ONE PERSON INJURED, SUSPECT AT LARGE

Police investigate shooting

(Port Huron Township) A shooting this morning in Port Huron Township has left one person injured, while the suspect is still at large.

Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 2600 block of Oak Street this morning shortly before 10:00 a.m.

The caller told St. Clair County Central Dispatch that a person had been shot.

Further information was received that determined the suspect was the son of the victim and had left the area on a bicycle.

Tri-Hospital EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his face.

Deputies and detectives from the Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Port Huron Police Department searched the area, but as of now have been unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is Mack Kuefler, described as a white male, 19 years of age. He is approximately 6’2” tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black tank top and black pants. It is unknown if he is armed at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking that any citizen that sees Mack Kuefler, do not approach him, but immediately call 911 with his location.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office are at the location of the shooting, continuing their investigation.
