Kimball Township man suffers serious injuries

Police investigate two vehicle accident

A 21 year old Kimball Township man was injured this morning in a crash at Griswold and Wadhams Road.

Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the crash scene at 8:15 this morning. When they arrived, they saw a vehicle that was westbound on Griswold had been struck by a large commercial truck that was traveling southbound on Wadhams.

Initial investigation into the crash determined the 21 year old had run the red light and was struck on the passenger side.

The 21 year old was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to a local hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Wadhams Road and Griswold Road were shut down for about 2 ½ hours during the investigation into the crash.

The road was re-opened shortly before 11:00 a.m.

Kimball Township Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.
