Five escape uninjured in two-vehicle crash

(MOORE TOWNSHIP) – Five people escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash in Moore Township Wednesday morning. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, the vehicles collided at the intersection of Snover and Ubly Roads around 9:30 a.m.

Deputies said a SUV driven by 52-year-old Cornelia Trif of Novi, was traveling west on Snover Road when she stopped at the stop sign and then drove into the intersection, colliding with a pick-up truck traveling south. The truck was driven by 19-year-old Andrew Mata of Melvin.

Trif, and two passengers, a 50-year-old Howell woman and a 47-year-old Canton woman, were treated and released at the scene by Sanilac EMS. Mata, and a 3-year-old male, were also treated and released.

Seat belts and child restraints were utilized and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Moore Township fire department assisted deputies at the scene.
