Police investigate body in burning vehicle
UPDATE
(BROCKWAY TOWNSHIP) – The investigation into the discovery of a body in a burning vehicle continues in St. Clair County.
Sheriff Tim Donnellon said although the manner of death has been determined, investigation continues as to the fire in the vehicle.
Sheriff Donnellon said early indications show the victim, a 68-year old Brockway Township man, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, possibly after setting his mini-van on fire.
The sheriff said the man lived in the vehicle in his driveway of his home in the 12000 block of Speaker Road in Brockway Township, west of Yale.
Brockway firemen were called to extinguish the flames and found the body last Thursday morning.
