Marlette Township woman charged with Open Murder ; second Sanilac County homicide in two weeks

(MARLETTE TOWNSHIP) – The suspicious death of a man that was located in his home in the 4500 block of Cooper Road in Marlette
Township Wednesday morning has been ruled a Homicide, according to Sanilac County Sheriff  Garry Biniecki.

The victim, who has been identified as 64-year-old Richard Rager, underwent an autopsy Friday afternoon and the preliminary results confirmed the ruling.

The 54-year-old female suspect in the case was arrested Wednesday, following the Sheriff’s Office Detective’s response to the residence and was arraigned Friday afternoon in 73A District Court in front of Magistrate Myla Ford.

The suspect and spouse of the victim, identified as 54-year-old Donna Rager ,was arraigned on felony charges of Homicide- Open Murder; Tampering with Evidence; Weapons-Felony Firearm and Concealing the Death of an Individual.

She remains in custody on a $1,000,000 Cash/Surety Bond with her next Court appearance scheduled for July 31, 2018.
