North Huron Schools Ag Science Complex Vandalized

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding damage costing between $5,000 and $7,500 at the North Huron Schools Ag Science Complex in Kinde, at 7:30 a.m. on July 3. Sometime between July 2 and the morning of July 3, unknown culprits took advantage of the unlocked science complex, breaking a variety of glass objects, running water to cause water damage, setting off fire extinguishers, as well as other acts of vandalism.

More deputies later arrived at the scene to further the collection of evidence and leads. This later led them to two local juveniles, ages 12 and 13 years old. They and their parents cooperated, with sheriff deputies learning that the two had caused the damage the evening of July 2. The minors were released to their parents and juvenile petitions will be sought in the coming days while the actual amount of damage is determined.
