Police investigate sale of drugs

(Port Huron) The St. Clair County Drug Task Force concluded three investigations recently, with the seizure of large quantities of drugs.

On June 19th, members of the DTF observed a known methamphetamine dealer, who was also wanted on a parole absconder warrant, driving in a vehicle.

A Sheriff’s Office road patrol deputy was contacted to pull the vehicle over. When the deputy attempted to stop the suspect vehicle in the area of Michigan Road and Dove Road in Port Huron Township at about 8:00 p.m., the suspect took off, drove through the Port-O-Call trailer park on Dove Road, drove through some yards as he headed west and ended up crashing into a berm on the trailer park property and then into a ditch on Minnesota Road.

The suspect, a 48 year old Port Huron man ran from the car, leaving his 37 year old female passenger from Port Huron in the vehicle. The man was apprehended a short time later. He was found to be in possession of about $3000 worth of methamphetamine.

Both the man and the female passenger were lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center, where they face charges including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, fleeing and eluding, parole violation and being a habitual offender.

On June 20th, the DTF executed a search warrant in the 2500 block of John L Street in the city of Port Huron at about 7:00 p.m. Once inside, about $500 worth of heroin was located and seized.

A 52 year old man from Port Huron was arrested and lodged at the IDC. He is expected to face charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin.
