The Thumb Electric Cooperative held it’s 81st annual meeting Saturday at the Thumb Octagon Barn with around 700 people in attendance. Three people were elected to three year terms on the executive board; Kevin Grifka of Huron County, Mike Briolat of Sanilac County and Jonathan Findlay of Tuscola County. President Louis Wenzlaff said the co-op had invested 4.8 million dollars in a new utility plant and just under 5 million dollars of upgrades are planned or are currently under construction. Thumb Electric had operating revenues of twenty million eight hundred thousand dollars in 2017 and expenditures of twenty million one hundred thousand dollars.
