Boating Deaths are Still Being Investigated

The investigation into two deaths on the Black River last week continues as authorities look for answers. Officials from the St. Clair County Sheriff Department believe the accident was caused by a third boat, creating a wake that caused Robert Lewandowski to loose his balance in a dingy and fall into the river. A second person in a nearby pontoon boat, jumped in to try and save Lewandowski, but both men vanished under water and their bodies were later recovered several hours later. Police are encouraging boaters to wear flotation devices when on the waterways.
