UPDATE: Firemen from Delaware Township, Minden City and Deckerville responded to a fire on Range Line Road at Vogel’s Dairy Farm Wednesday afternoon. According to reports, a brush fire spread to a pile of nearby tires, causing the thick black smoke. Large barns with dairy cattle inside, and other farm equipment nearby were not affected by the fire. Firemen remained on scene for several hours.
At least two fire departments remain on the scene of a large fire in Delaware Township that sent flames and smoke billowing in to the air Wednesday afternoon. Firemen from Delaware Township and Deckerville responded to a farm near the intersection of Palms and Range Line Road around 2 p.m.
Thick black smoke could be seen for over 20 miles away prior to firemen arriving on scene. We will have an update on the fire once first responders clear the scene.
There was no word on cause of the fire or if there were any injuries.
