(EVERGREEN TWP.) — Five Sanilac County fire departments responded to a house fire in Evergreen Township earlier this month after flames and smoke destroyed a two-story home on Leslie Road. Argyle Township fire fighters told Central Dispatch they could see heave smoke while responding, asking for mutual aid from Cass City, Lamotte and Moore Townships along with the City of Sandusky who brought their air system to the scene. Firemen remained on the scene for around four hours and officials said the home was a total loss. No injuries were reported, but a family pet perished in the blaze.
