Two candidates withdraw from Sanilac County’s top job

(SANILAC COUNTY) – The list of candidates for the Sanilac County Administrator/Controller has dwindled from five down to three. County officials confirmed Monday afternoon that Troy Feltman and Craig Horton had withdrawn their names from consideration.

Feltman is the Cheasaning Village Manager and former Administrator of St. Clair County while Horton is Assistant Administrator/Controller of Lapeer County. Feltman told WMIC/WTGV he had several large projects currently underway in Cheasaning and it wasn’t a good time to be leaving the village.

Horton said he was not able to shift meetings around to be available for Wednesday’s interview and his Board of Commissioners told him they did not want him to leave. He has served Lapeer County for the past 27 years.

Larry Collins, Assistant Administrator/Controller for Ann Arbor, will interview at 9 a.m.; Tara Griffith, a Sanilac County Health Department employee, will interview at 1 p.m. and Port Sanilac Village Manager Larry O’Keefe will interview at 2 p.m.
