Tuscola County sheriff deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Deckerville near Dodge Rd. in Novesta Twp. early Thursday morning that injured seven people.
According to the Tuscola County Sheriff department, a 41-year old Deford woman was traveling east on Deckerville Rd. with her two children, ages 13 and 9. Deputies said a witness saw the woman’s vehicle go on to the shoulder then back on the roadway sideways, being struck broadside by a westbound pick-up truck.
The truck was driven by a 25-year old Decker woman who had three children in the truck ages 3, 5, and 9.
The occupants of the car were all seriously injured, with one of the children being flown from the scene by helicopter to an out-of-county hospital.
The occupants of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
