Silver Lining to honor recipients at banquet

HONORING VOLUNTEERS AT 2017 SILVER LINING!
(SANDUSKY) – The Sanilac County Silver Lining Committee, and the Sanilac County Community Foundation, invite the public to the 24th annual Silver Lining Awards Celebration scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 28, at 7 p.m. at Woodland Hills Golf Club in Sandusky. The Silver Lining Awards are designed to recognize adults and young people whose volunteer efforts have greatly improved the quality of life for the people of Sanilac County.

Both individuals and groups will be recognized for their volunteer activities. Awards are given in the following categories: youth individuals, youth groups, adult individuals/family, adult groups, and businesses.

The following individuals, groups, and businesses will be honored at this year’s event:
Kristyn Franzel, Joshua Gomez, McKenzie Wilhelmsen, Students of Sandusky High School, Youth Advisory Council (YAC), Scott Bohms, Beth Cain, Bonnie Forest, Katie Gordon, Randy Hostetler, Doris Huntoon, Bruce Irland, Sharon Klawender, Mary Lou Kraft, Jeff Lyall, James Mahaffy & Family, Donald and Sarah Morath, Sarah Opperman, Rochelle Rich, Kim Schell, John Scott, Rachel Shephard, Samantha Strickler, Linda Warner, Caring Heart Health Clinic, Deckerville League of Women, Marlette Lions Club, McKenzie Health System Auxiliary, Sanilac Building Ties Committee, Sanilac County Historical Society Museum Volunteers, Sanilac County Historical Society Polar Bear Display Committee, Sanilac County Historical Society Research Committee, Sharrard Farms, Team One Credit Union – Sandusky.

All honorees will receive a Silver Lining Certificate. One youth individual, one youth group, one adult individual, one adult group and one business will be selected to receive a 2017 Silver Lining Crystal Award. Two special awards, The Romney & Stan Fetting Heart of Gold Awards will be presented to those who have been nominated five and ten separate years.

Please join us as we celebrate volunteerism in Sanilac County! Light refreshments will be served, and the event is free to attend for nominees. All other attendees are asked to provide a five-dollar donation.
