(BUEL TOWNSHIP) – Shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday, Troopers from the Michigan State Police Caro Post responded to a crash at the intersection of M-90 and Fargo Road in Buel Twp. west of Croswell. According to Troopers, a dump truck driven by a 46-year old Croswell man and a passenger vehicle driven by a 21-year old Burtchville man collided. The passenger vehicle had two passengers, a 20-year old Burtchville man and a 21-year old Fort Gratiot man.
20-year old Brandon Kavalesky, was fatally injured in the crash while the others involved were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Troopers continue to investigate the accident and said it’s unknown if seat belts were being used and drugs or alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Croswell Fire, EMS and Police and the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department.
