Hale hired as Brown City Principal

(Brown City) – After lengthy discussion behind closed doors, the Brown City school board has voted to hire Brad Hale as their new Jr/Sr High Principal.

Hale, a Brown City graduate, has been a teacher and coach in Sandusky for the past seven years.

Brown City Superintendent Neil Kohler said he expects to work out contract details with Hale and he expects Hale will begin his new duties within the next few days.

Kohler said the district budgets around $80,000 base salary for the position, plus benefits.

Meanwhile, the Brown City school district has approved their balanced budget for the upcoming school year. The district’s budget is based on a levy of 17.97 mills on non-homestead proprety and has projected revenues of nearly $7.9 million dollars.

Expenditures are estimated to be slightly less, at $7.8 million with an undesignated fund balance of almost $2 million dollars.

Superintendent Neil Kohler said he was pleased with the work of the Administrative staff in preparing the budget and feels the school district is in good financial shape.
