Various groups have been busy making decorative ornaments from burned wire in the southern wildfires earlier this year

(North Branch) – Area farmers are teaming up once again to provide relief to those stricken by the devastating wild fires earlier this year. Earlier in the spring, hundreds of farmers and others drove big rigs south loaded with hay, farm supplies and compassion for their fellow farmers who had lost everything in the fires.

On June 24th, the Michigan Ag Community Relief and members of the Michigan Convoy will hold a Benefit Barn Bash in North Branch at 5 p.m. with all proceeds being given to those still struggling to recover. The fundraiser will be held at Swoish farms located at 4775 Clear Lake Rd.

Numerous items, including several long guns, will be raffled off and a country music band will performing.

The group is also selling barbed wire ornaments, using wire brought back to Michigan from the burned areas of southern states, to help raise money for new rolls of wire.
